What it is
An automated job searching and application tracking system.
I created a weekly task in Claude where I have it scour the internet to find jobs based on my instructions. It then inputs all relevant findings onto a website with key facts such as salary or location, other relevant information. I also specify how good of a fit the job is and provide feedback so that the system learns my preferences over time and continuously improves every week. I also track the progress of each application on the website.
Why I made it
Don’t you hate looking for jobs? Isn’t it obvious?
The hassle of sifting through hundreds of websites, reading every detail of a job offer just to find out it’s an unpaid internship at the end.
This is hands down the most useful tool I had built thus far - life changer. Please take inspiration here, or just fully copy it. Saves TONS of time by researching for you, you end up sifting through relevant options and focusing on the application process rather than the search.
What I learned
Honestly, this one worked great from the get-go. Here are some practical tips I learned along the way tho.
Put the task on automatically approve in Claude so that you don’t have to confirm each website visit.
Give feedback. I have to remind it not to give me unpaid internships and to check language requirements, it fails here often. Give clear and specific instruction early to save yourself time later.
Use the filters, make ones that help you personally. I made it identify best matches, or show which jobs I haven’t looked at at all so far. Simplifies the process. Keep in mind that you can always improve the workflow.
Tweak the design. Tweak the system. Make it yours. This is the fun part. Make it so that you enjoy using it. If you should remember one thing when building these things its that if anything doesn’t work like you want it to, you can just go and make it do it exactly what you want, make use of that.
